Annie Malone Children & Family Services is calling on St. Louis vendors, small businesses and bargain hunters to come together for Shop the Lot — a community pop‑up market and yard sale set for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5355 Page Blvd.
The event will turn the agency’s lot into a marketplace filled with clothing, household items, unique finds and local entrepreneurs. Every sale supports Annie Malone’s effort to create a safe and fun Trunk or Treat experience for children and families this Halloween.
Vendor spaces start at $50, and the agency is still seeking boutiques, food vendors, crafters, resellers and residents looking to clear out closets or garages.
“We want Shop the Lot to be more than a fundraiser,” said CEO Keisha Lee. “It’s an opportunity for people to support local entrepreneurs, find some great deals and help us create something special for children and families in our community.”
Founded in 1888 as the St. Louis Colored Orphan’s Home, Annie Malone Children & Family Services has spent more than a century standing in the gap for families in crisis. The agency grew under the leadership of Annie Turnbo Malone — the pioneering businesswoman behind Poro College — who served as board president for more than two decades.
Today, the organization operates crisis services, therapeutic programs, parenting support, an economic mobility program and a 24‑hour Family Crisis Center that continues its mission of stabilizing families and protecting children.
The annual May Day Parade — one of the largest African American parades in the country — remains its signature tradition and a reminder of the agency’s long‑standing commitment to community.
Shop the Lot is the latest effort to bring neighbors, supporters and small businesses together on Page Boulevard — and to keep Annie Malone’s mission visible in a community still navigating recovery and change.
The agency is encouraging St. Louisans to sign up, shop, sell and share to help make the event a success.
