Twenty-eight days is a short span to cover 200 years of blood and sweat; we always miss someone who has contributed to our advancement. We don’t need approval to recognize our own. Fifty-two times a year we can stand and be proud of our forefathers. In the month of February, there are a lot of speeches on how great it is to be black. Well, what about the other 11 months? With all the strides being made, there are two backwards that keep a foot on our necks – credit scores, SAT scores and all the other barriers that
keep us financially suppressed. I hope we can go beyond February!
