Parents and grandparents! Community at large! If you don’t take an active role in your child’s ability to read, you are taking an active role in this state’s need to build new prisons.
Buy a book and read it for 10-15 minutes a night. Get a library card. Check out books. Read them for 10-15 minutes a night.
Or help build more prisons for your children.
I became a storyteller because I thought (and still do) this would be a way to help encourage children to want to read and like reading a variety of books. Storytelling is a great way to improve reading, and this is my little goal with the children.
