Since relocating to St. Louis I have become a fan of The St. Louis American. It is one of the best papers I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot of them. In fact, my first professional job as a young college graduate was at the Sacramento Observer. I love The St. Louis American’s reporting, its coverage of community activities, its activism, even its typography. The American is everything a newspaper should be. I especially like The Political Eye column – good, old-fashioned, pull-no-punches political reporting.
