I am a regular reader of your newspaper. I love it. Thanks, thanks, thanks. The newspaper, oh, how I love your newspaper – the news, the entertainment, the health and sports sections. I sadly also read the newspaper to see who has passed on in death. Please keep the newspaper circulating.

I also want to thank you for Bernie Hayes – I love him, too – and Maurice Scott, Alvin A. Reid, Carol Daniel, Mike Claiborne, Earl Austin Jr., Shirley Deavens and to your entire staff and advertisers.

Having stated that, when will you retire Jesse Jackson’s column? It is no longer 1965. What opinion of his speaks to the relevancy of now for our progress? Does he have a lifetime appointment like the Supreme Court Justice’s? Jesse is all flash and no substance. I believe its quite evident that today’s times requires new leadership, new ideas, and new solutions. None of those just mentioned will come from Jesse. Jesse’s time has come and gone. Its time to force his retirement. No more columns from Jesse. He has enriched himself, and lined his pockets long enough on the backs of Black people. How about finding someone else to fill that portion of the page that will help with the progress of our people.
