It’s kind of sad to realize that after all of the efforts to get people out to vote that something like this could happen in America. I concluded a long time ago that an enrollment of 80 percent or more blacks in the city schools was never going to be acceptable with the building boom currently happening in the city of St. Louis. There wouldn’t even be a building boom without some guarantee that something would be done with the city school system. I’m just dying to see what this three-member board is going to do. March madness, St. Louis-style.
