” If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God Who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and tither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything (he asks for) from the Lord.” James 1:5-7 (Amplified Bible)
“The word of God must become a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.” It must become the source of life, strength, power and victory in your life. Without knowledge and understanding of the word of God you are doomed for failure and defeat. Many of God’s children are cheating themselves because of limited knowledge of how to apply the word of faith to every aspect of their lives.
Failure and defeat exist in the lives of individuals because of three reasons.
The main reason is a lack of knowledge. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” God tells us in His word in all our getting, get understanding. Knowledge and understanding comes from studying and meditating on the word of God. God’s word is our source of enlightenment. It will give you the directions that you desire and need to begin to walk toward your destiny. There must be a hunger and thrist developed within your inner man that gives you the desire to know more about God and His word.
Pick up your Bible, pray for guidance and ask God to lead you into a daily study of His word. Make a habit of never leaving home without depositing the scriptures into your heart so that you can live by them. Make Prayer and Bible Study a part of your life consistently. Don’t let the enemy (satan) cheat you out of going to Bible Study. His goal is to keep you away from the word of God.
The second reason for failure is a lack of faith. We fail to ask God for what we desire to receive in our lives. Ninety percent of God’s children’s time is spent telling Him about their problems. We have been conditioned to be problem or need oriented. He already knows your needs and shortcomings. He wants you to tell Him what you want. “Ask and it shall be given.” But, when you ask it must be in faith. God will only respond to faith. When you ask in faith you believe that you already have the thing that you desire. You understand that it is in the spirit realm, but your faith mixed with the spoken word will move it into the physical realm.
The third reason is a lack of action. “Faith without works is dead.” It is not enough to ask and then sit and wait for something magic to take place. God is not a magician. He is not going to do anything for you while you sit home looking a TV, playing cards or having a pity party. God works through His people. Why do you think He place His power in you? If you are going to wait on Him to do what you need done, then you do not need His power living in you. We perish for a lack of knowledge.
I believe the Body of Christ has fallen prey to our number one enemy; a lack of knowledge and understanding. This destructive spirit has locked the door to victory and success for many believers. We make excuses why we do not study, pray, attend Bible study, and live by the word of God. Is God a liar? Is He two faced? Is He a respecter of persons? Is it God Who is holding thousands of His people back from experience that success that is rightfully their? The answer is no. The only way to know for yourself is to begin to change what you do and start following God’s plan of action for victory and success in life. Make a commitment to yourself and to God to live by His word. Ask for a burning desire to know and understand how to live by His word. Seek wisdom as if it is the only thing that could keep you alive. Begin a walk of faith that will allow you to tap into the unlimited potential that is lying dormant within the real you. If you ask in faith, nothing wavering, no doubting, no fearing or worrying expect to experience the blessings of God without measure.
Do not let this year of completion pass away without receiving what God has for you. Go into action now. Become a doer of the word and not a hearer only. God is waiting on you.
