Christian Embassy Church, 13775 Old Jamestown Rd. in Black Jack, hosted a group from Girls, Inc. at a previous Harvest Fest’s “Step Together for Christ” showcase. This year’s festival is scheduled for September 18-20.

Christian Embassy Church (CEC) of Black Jack has named Fathers’ Support Center of St. Louis as the beneficiary of its 2015 Harvest Fest fundraiser, which will be held September 18-20 at the church, located at 13775 Old Jamestown Rd. in Black Jack.

The CEC Harvest Fest is a three-day festival with a purpose to bring the community together to raise funds to support a local, charitable organization.

“Our parishioners are excited to join Fathers’ Support Center in raising much-needed funds for this vital community-wide initiative,” said Robert S. Griffin, pastor of Christian Embassy Church. “Members of the CEC family have even benefited directly or know someone that has benefited from their services.”

The City of Black Jack will once again join the church in this celebration.

CEC will host the Harvest Fest events on Friday evening and Saturday during the day. The City of Black Jack will continue the festivities into Saturday evening by hosting Harvest Moon Fest in Harold J. Evangelista Park, next door to CEC.

The entire St Louis community is invited to join them in celebrating these three fun-filled events. The schedule:

The Harvest Fest weekend culminates with an uplifting worship service at Christian Embassy Church.

From its humble beginnings as a church fish fry to showcase CEC’s ministries, Harvest Fest has grown into the church’s major annual fundraiser dedicated to benefiting worthy causes. Previous Harvest Fest beneficiaries include the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Build A Body Kid’s Fitness, Inc., James S. McDonnell USO, Kingdom House, Salvation Army, Samaritan’s Purse, Wings of Hope, Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club, Backstoppers, Inc. and Focus Marine Foundation.

“With everything going on with Ferguson, we thought Fathers Support Center was an excellent choice,” said Debra Handley, a member of Christian Embassy Church who helps to promote the church’s good works. “Their mission is to help fathers become more connected to the family, and they provide various means of support.”

She added,  Christian Embassy is a non-denominational church which teaches that God’s love and promises are for us today and always.”
