Davis Associates CPA is offering its “Church Accounting & Clergy Tax Seminar” on Saturday, January 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Heights in Richmond Heights.
This full-day seminar offers participants the necessary tools to build a plan in the event of being audited by the Internal Revenue Services.
“Many church officials have found the area of stewardship over finances and taxes challenging,” said Darlene M. Davis, principal at Davis Associates CPA.
“This seminar will help participants overcome this obstacle of fear by receiving professional advice and training. We clearly convey and identify ways to minimize tax liability for clergy and even offer a component on the Land Reutilization Authority process, for those churches interested in acquiring land at below market cost.”
Davis pointed out that leaders in the church hold the key of trust from congregation members and are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records.
She said church leaders are also responsible for continually evaluating their current practices regarding finances and taxes in order to make sure they are being good stewards over finances.
