Local ministries offer landmarks along faith’s journey

Whether its health, music, fellowship, professional development or the traditional faith-based conference, a number of events sponsored by area sanctuaries and ministries get started this weekend and continue throughout the summer. Each event and host ministry is working to offer service, insight and an opportunity to grow in spiritual gifts and everyday life.
Health and Juneteenth
In conjunction with the Juneteenth observance at Fountain Park, Centennial Christian Church; its outreach ministry; The Breakfast Club, Inc., an African-American breast cancer support group; and the New Bethlehem M.B. Church Nurse’s Ministry invite women to honor their health by having a free mammogram from the BJC Mammogram Van. Mammograms are available at no cost to women who have no insurance or are underinsured. The van will be parked outside Centennial Christian Church, 4950 Fountain Ave., on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

There will also be a Juneteenth Sunday morning worship in Fountain Park, 4800 Fountain Ave. at 10:30 am on Sunday, June 15 led by the Rev. Derrick Perkins.
An attitude for worship

Back to Back Bishops

Don’t Let the Devil Steal Your Praise
Next Saturday (June 21) Pastor Doris Bracely of Stepping Into the Light Ministry is returning for the third installment as host of the Don’t Let the Devil Steal Your Praise Women’s Conference. Three anointed women will minister in the areas of: Singleness, Dreams & Visions, and Deliverance.

For the love of gospel
The Missouri Gospel Announcers Guild, GMWA and The Midwest Greater Arts Group will present their annual Gospel Industry Showcase and Artist Seminar August 1-2 in St. Louis. Each year the conference draws thousands of local and national record label executives, singers, celebrities, industry insiders and fans for series of events established to assist those looking to make their mark on the gospel music scene.
