His long-running BET show Celebrate the Gospel has made Dr. Bobby Jones a household name synonymous with inspirational music. But this weekend St. Louis and Metro East worship centers will help him celebrate 10 years of a more than worthy cause.

This year marks the 10th year that Jones has lent his name to the American Stroke Association’s Power to End Stroke Gospel Tour – which uses music as a segue into providing information and prevention tools to the people who need it most.

Jones will bring his ‘Power’ to the St. Louis area this weekend at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (917 N. Taylor Ave.) and Southern Missionary Baptist Church (2801 State St. in East St. Louis).

The health exposition element features health screenings and complimentary informational brochures and giveaways. St. Louis’ own Merdean Gales will co-host alongside Jones for the musical showcase that features national recording artist/gospel legend Dottie Peoples, along with several local acts.
