Third Presbyterian Church issues fitness challenge
On Saturday March 24, 2007, Third Presbyterian Church will kick off a fitness challenge. To help participants begin the challenge, certified personal trainers from Body Beautiful will be on site in the church’s fellowship hall to take initial vital statistics such as individual measurements, weight and body fat percentages. Personal trainers will begin taking measurements at 9 a.m. and the first fitness challenge workout will begin at 9:30a.m.
Body Beautiful personal trainers will lead the group aerobic workout every Saturday for six weeks. Throughout the challenge participants will receive valuable information regarding nutrition and exercises. And after the first all workouts will begin at 9 a.m.
At the conclusion of the second week’s workout session, Third Presbyterian’s resident chef, Varonaki Portis, will host a cooking demonstration at 10 a.m. During the demonstration, Portis will teach participants how to cook and prepare healthy food options without sacrificing flavor and taste.
Third Presbyterian has partnered with several local businesses to provide incentive prizes for the fitness challenge winners. Prizes include a $100.00 gift certificate to Jamestown Mall, a new suit and a host of other prizes to be announced as the competition continues.
The fitness challenge officially ends April 28 and the winners will be announced during the church’s 114th church anniversary celebration on April 29.
The Third Presbyterian Fitness Challenge is open to members, family and friends of the congregation and the cost to enter the challenge is $30. To sign up for the challenge contact Pastor Cedric Portis at (314) 520-5962.
