While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Gen. 8:22 (Amplified Bible)
The plan of God provides for His children to blessed with both spiritual and physical blessings that are necessary for living the abundant life. God would not tell us that if we sow we will reap and then withhold the blessing from us.
The word of God is truth and it cannot lie. Whatever God has promised to do, His word has the ability and power to become a reality in the life of the one who believes, decrees and expects to see the full manifestation of God’s Word.
If God’s word is sure and all of His promises are yes and amen, then why is there so much lack and failure in the earth today? Why are God’s people living beneath their privileges? Why are the promises of God not manifested in the lives of believers?
There are several reasons why God’s people do not walk in the blessings promised in the word. Each of these reasons becomes a hindrance when they are not known and understood. Often times the eyes of an individual is blinded by life’s circumstances, tradition and the tricks and schemes of the devil.
A lack of knowledge and understanding is the major hindrance to receiving your harvest. The Bible lets us know that we perish for a lack of knowledge. The word admonishes us to make getting understanding a priority in our lives. When there is a lack of knowledge and understanding of how to live by the word of God and there is no seeking of understanding, the people perish.
Disobedience is another major hindrance to receiving your harvest. In order to reap a harvest, obeying God’s word must be a way of life. When disobedience is lacking, rebellion takes a front seat. Often times one becomes angry and callous when asked to obey God and maintain a lifestyle of sowing. Some individuals become angry and defensive when ask to obey God by sowing into someone else’s life. Others sow but with a negative spirit. The seed sown through that kind of behavior will never bring forth a harvest.
The Bible says tradition will nullify the word of God. Ways of thinking and acting passed down from one generation to another can be a deterrent to a believer. As children we could have heard our parents speaking negativity about the process of sowing and reaping. Children emulate their parents. As a result of this tradition, many families find themselves bound down through several generations. They live in poverty and lack because of a negative spirit concerning sowing and reaping has passed from one generation to the next.
Fear will keep you from receiving your harvest. Fear is described as: False Evidence Appearing Real. When it is acted upon it will bring consistent failure into the life of any individual. Fear will paralyze you and hinder you from obeying God. When the believer is unable to walk by faith and live by the word of God, fear will attribute to their lack of success in life.
God has made provision for all of His children to live a life of abundance in every area. He has promised that He would become the Supplier of all of your needs. In order for this to happen, there is a need to live by the commandments of God. Sowing if a part of God’s plan for His children to be supplied with all of their needs.
Our God became the perfect example for us to follow. He gave His greatest and best Gift to the whole world. Through the Gift of Jesus, we now have the right to live a victorious life. Had God held back His Gift to us, we would be lost.
