Leave a quarter in the car at Aldi’s: that is just one of the ways local inspirational author Jana Gamble encourages others to give when they think they have nothing to give.

107 Ways to Give When You Think You Have Nothing is the title of her newest book, which was written for youth and adults. She said God gave her the idea for the book while she was on sabbatical from work and seeking his guidance.

Gamble said, “I have personally practiced the methods in my book, and they have blessed me. My book includes a variety of simple ways of being a giver, such as sharing food from a food pantry or being an attentive listener to someone who needs to talk.”

Gamble, who lives in St. Peters, is also the author of Capture Your Giving and Blessings: A Journaling Journey to a New Discovery, which is a great partner to 107 Ways.

She currently is working on a CD to go with her first children’s book, The Flavor of Friendship: What’s Your Flavor? The book uses ice cream flavors to help children learn about diversity. She believes in what she calls D. U. E.S. (Diversity, Unity, Equality, and Spirituality), and What’s Your Flavor is her way to teach the concept.

She keeps an inspirational blog, Poetically Yours, that she updates weekly. She writes a monthly inspirational column for the Connections to Success professional women’s group, titled “Inspiration from an Everyday Woman.”

This year has been a busy year for Gamble. She has released two books and opened her business Poetically Yours. Gamble was interviewed by SBTV regarding her new Christian business, which provides personalized literature for all occasions: speeches, letters, birthdays, graduations, get well wishes, holidays, family reunions, prayers, lyrics and more.

In addition to promoting her books, she has been involved with community service through her affiliations with Connections to Success. Gamble was selected Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women’s Group delegate. As Midwest delegate, Gamble traveled to California for the Success Summit, where she learned more about her two passions: entrepreneurship and community organizing. In May of this year, she shared Mistress of Ceremony duties with Lethia Owens at the second annual Connections to Success Dare to Soar conference. Gamble also is beginning a series of yet to be titled children’s books.

“It is very important for me to be a Christian writer, because without my innate calling by God I would not have become a writer at all,” Gamble said.

“I want to positively influence people through getting to know them and/or through my website. God constantly moves me to encourage and inspire others through my speaking, writing, emails, blogs and my fellowship. I always ask God to ‘use me as YOU will!’”
