“As Jesus went into Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, begging Him, and saying, Lord, my servant boy is lying at the house paralyzed and distressed with intense pains. And Jesus said to him, I will come and restore him. And the centurion replied to Him, Lord I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof, BUT ONLY SPEAK THE WORD and my servant boy will be cured.” Matt. 8:5-8 (Amplified Bible)
How much importance do you place on the word of God? Is it something that you know exist and it is truth but it is more often not applied to your life?
The Word of God is a powerful representation of Jesus. John 1:14, says, “And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh; lived awhile) among us: and we (actually) saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.” This Word has been given to the children of God so that we can live an overcoming and victorious life.
The Centurion in the scripture for this week had received a revelation of the power of God’s Word. He knew without any doubt that Jesus could send His word into the body of his servant and the boy would be healed. It took unshakable faith for him to know without a doubt that there is healing power in the word of God.
What do you believe about the word? Do you know without any doubt that the Word spoken in faith through the mouth of a faith-filled believer can produce healing and deliverance?
Are you one of the millions of people who are living with some manner of sicknesses and diseases without any hope to be healed? Are you counted in the thousands who go to church every Sunday sick and bound by an infirmity and leave the same way?
The Bible says we perish for a lack of knowledge. The thirty-nine stripes that Jesus bore on His back was for the healing of the nation. You may be sick but you do not have to stay sick. You may be temporarily bound but, you do not have to stay bound. God is just waiting for you to believe His word and begin to open your mouth and declare that you are healed.
Anything that you accept or tolerate you cannot not change. If you believe that your high blood pressure is now a permanent way of life, then you will live with it the rest of your life. Was Jesus’ death in vain as it relates to your life? Is His Blood not enough to bring victory into your life? Have you given up hope because the illness has existed so long?
Two weeks ago, I met a young man bound with cancer and had been given three weeks to live. We were in a meeting and I believe he had been place in our environment by God. He was not attending the meeting. Just as the meeting was about to end he acknowledge that he needed prayer for healing. One of the Pastors prayed and laid hands on the young man. Everyone at the meeting agreed with the prayer. One hour later, he was at the hospital having tests run, you see this was the week that he was supposed to die. When the test results came back the tumor has shrunk. One week later he returned for more test. The cancer is now in remission. No further medication is needed and is stronger than he has ever been. The prayer of faith can and will healed the sick.
You must understand that this young man had a part to play in the manifestation of the healing. He spoke out of his mouth I want to be healed. After the prayer he believed that he was healed before going to the hospital.
Today can be your day to open your mouth and speak a word of
faith to your body. When you speak the word of God it is the same as Jesus speaking to your circumstances. Or you may need to find a faith-filled believer who will anoint you with oil and pray the prayer of faith over your life. The prayer of faith coupled with your words of faith will bring forth a powerful manifestation.
Why not make it a habit to speak the Word over your life for whatever you may need. Don’t stop with yourself, send the word to others who are sick, hurt, busted and disgusted. There is power in the word of God.
Start today by not focusing in on the problem, the need, the lack, the sickness or disease. Instead, speak the word with a promise
over your life. Put God in remembrance of His Word. He promised that He would not only hear but also answer.
Victory is available to those who live by the word of God. Develop the habit living by the word, studying the word, believing the word, speaking the word and expecting the positive results that will be manifested from the word spoken through you in faith.
