Matthew 21:21-22: “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Being a witness to God’s grace, mercy and bountiful blessings, I did not possess the faith or understanding that those things were done because God heard my prayers but by the prayers of others for me. Through sickness, car accidents, financial storms, family problems, etc., God always gave me strength to get through.

While studying the word of God, I began to pray and ask how I can erase this doubt in my mind. I prayed for Him to keep the devil from putting doubt in my mind. I have always been an avid reader of Rev. Shirley Deavens’ articles. It was God speaking through her, that has taught me how to strengthen my faith.

One particular article will always stand out in my mind titled “Keeping the Faith.”

This title was one of the ones repeated this year. (I had this article taped to my desk for years, and it is now laminated and in my keepsake box.)

One particular storm that I was going through, it seemed, I just couldn’t get an answer.

And when I got my copy of The American that week, Rev. Deavens’ article was discussing faith. A repeat of “Keeping the Faith” was just what I needed.

I knew she had talked about this before. I began to pray and ask God to make me stronger. Show me that He hears ME. I have to know that He hears ME! Well, this storm was something that I had to talk to only Him and no one else. HE works like that.

And when I received my answer, it resulted in such peace and relief. I have been happy through it all ever since. “Keep the Faith” is included in my signature on my e-mails.

It does not matter where you are in your life. You must know that God loves YOU! And if you love Him back, you will find unspeakable joy. You can smile through the storms because you are keeping the faith that He will work it out.

I am a witness that prays, steps, pray and step. Pray before every decision, any obstacles, and even any good situations. This world is full of turmoil, but we as believers see the sun in the rain.

I will truly miss reading her articles, but she taught me how to go to the Word for answer. She has earned her crown because she has helped me to help someone else. And I pray that the cycle continues.

“KEEP THE FAITH!”
