Prayer+Praise + Thanksgiving Moves God
“You are my God, and I will confess, praise, and give thanks to You: You are my God, I will extol You. O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endures forever.”
Psalm 118:28-29 (Amplified Bible)
On Nov. 6th my body was attacked with a severe virus that put me flat on my back for eight days. I was literally unable to get up and do anything most of those days. The attack threw my entire system out of order and my blood pressure was over two hundred. During this time, I stood on the word of God knowing that I was healed by Jesus’ stripes. I knew that despite the fact that I was going through a horrible illness, I was being healed and I would come forth healed and more powerful in the spirit than I was before.
During those eight days of challenge, I became increasingly more aware of the power of praising and thanking God. Something unexplainable happens when a believer puts all their trust in God and begin to thank Him for all that He has done even before you see the results.
Praise and thanksgiving when it is linked with prayer brings God on the scene. The power of God will be manifested through the life of a faithfilled believer when true praise and thanksgiving comes from the heart.
Praising and thanking God is not something you do just to get a particular need met. It must become a way of life. Daily as you enter into a new day, there should be praise and thanksgiving coming from your heart.
Our God is moved by the gratitude from His people. When we praise Him on a consistent basis because He is our everything this causes His favor to be released upon your life. Your Heavenly father desires your praise.
Thanksgiving is the key to receiving blessing from God. When you walk by faith and not by sight knowing that what you desire has been granted, all that’s left to do is thank Him for the blessing. Thanking God before you see the manifestation is faith in action. It says to God that you are living totally by His word. Once you have taken the necessary action and know in your heart that you have the request made of Him, it is time to thank Him.
There is so much power in thanking God. This is exactly what I did during the time of my illness. Even though I was feeling horrible, I kept thanking Him for the manifestation of the healing. I knew that right before a blessing is released the enemy (Satan) will level an attack on the believer. The greater the blessing that you are about to receive the more severe the attack. It is the enemy’s way of trying to stop the blessing from being manifested.
Are you experiencing all kinds of challenges in your life? Does it seem that all hell has broken out over your life? Does it appear that if it were not for bad news, there would be no news at all? Well, your situation is just right for God. You need to make the connection. Use praise thanksgiving and prayer based on the word of God as you weapon. You cannot fight evil with anger, depression, worry or fear. All you are doing si making matters worst. But thanks be to God when we take the weapons that God has given us and apply them to the challenge that exist, there will be a powerful move of God.
Everyday must become a day of thanksgiving. Praise and thank God for just being Who He is in your life. Thank Him for what you know He is going to do. Thank Him because He is your Jehovah Jireh, your Provider, Healer, Deliverer, Keeper, Protector, and Advisor. From the time you get up and all through the day make praise and giving thanks a way of life.
Needless to say when I receive the report form the doctor, there was nothing wrong. My blood pressure was normal and I mean normal 128/82. The report from my blood work showed absolutely nothing wrong. I had been totally healed. Within two days after the healing came, the blessings begin to flow into my life. Things I had been praying for were released. Doors are being opened. When praises go up and they are mixed with prayer and thanksgiving, there is a divine connection that is made. Heaven has to respond to the call.
Not just on Thanksgiving Day but all throughout the year the decision must be; “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
