“Now to Him Who by (in consequence of) the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to carry out his purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams.” Ephesians 3:20 (Amplified Bible)
God’s word identifies His children as the “Body of Christ.” We have been impregnated with the power of God so that the work that is yet to be achieved on earth can be carried out.
As believers our bodies become channels or outlets for the power of God to dwell in. Jesus is now living His life through you.
Because of the substitutionary work of Jesus on the cross, the dominion, authority and power that was lost in the garden has been restored at Calvary. With Christ in your life, you became an outlet for His power. It is not your power nor your authority that is living in you. But, it is the power of God made available to you to fulfill the plan of God on the earth until Jesus returns.
The challenge that exist today is the many believers have little or no knowledge of the power and authority that now lives in them. Because of a lack of knowledge much of God’s power lies dormant within His children. Many still see themselves as being incapable of accomplishing anything for God. Others think that whatever is accomplished must be done in their own strength. God’s children are lacking in knowledge and understanding of who they are and how to release the power that lives within.
If 2006 is to be a year for the release of God’s power on earth, there must be an understanding of who we became through our relationship with Jesus. John 15 says He is the Vine and we are the branches. Because of our relationship with the Vine we can bear much fruit. Yet, separated from Him, we are void of the ability to produce fruit. Your union with the Christ give you access to His power. This power is sufficient to overcome any and every challenge that you may face. It is able to move mountains, pull down strongholds and destroy the works of the enemy.
Every believer must know and understand what God has done for them. There can be no doubt or uncertainty about your identity in Christ. Where there is a lack of knowledge, there will be little or no releasing of God’s power into the earth. When His power is not released that there is failure and destruction.
Today I challenge you to desire to fulfill the prayer in Eph. 1:17-18, “For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation (of insight into the mysteries and secrets) in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him. By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritances in the saints (His set-apart ones).” Ask God to give you revelation and insight into who you are and the power that now lives in you just waiting to be released.
God tells His children that we can do exceedingly abundantly beyond what our limited minds can conceive. This ability is not ours. It is His ability living in us that now allows us to become overcomers.
Don’t let the price that Jesus paid for your life be in vain. His death and resurrection was for every one of His children. Through His Blood we have been redeemed, made heirs and sealed for His glory to be manifested through our hearts. This new life in Christ opens the door to the availability of victorious living.
You must desire to see yourself the way God sees you. There must be a knowing that empowers you to make wise decisions that opens the door to abundant living. Your power source, Jesus is living in you just waiting for you to realize who you became through your union with Him. He is ready to do superabundantly far over and above all that you could ever ask or think. It is time to release the power that God has given you.
