“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it.” Prov. 18:21 (AMP)

Words are powerful. The words that we speak on a daily basis has the power to create a successful or negative environment. It is important that believers realize that the opportunity to change someone’s life is available through the words that they speak and the thoughts that they think.

What we say about our children, family members, friends, co-workers or just people in general has a lot to do with the outcomes that they will see in life. As parents we have an important role to play in preparing our children for success in life. The words that we use to describe their personality and behaviors will determine to a great extent how they turn out. Even in the midst of great challenges, we must see the good in every individual.

We have been told that words cannot hurt us. This is so far from being the truth. Every word that is spoken over the life of a person will have a definite effect on their life.

Success in life, healing, victory, peace and so much more is manifested because someone spoke into someone’s life even if it is at a distance. The words that we speak in prayer are not limited by distance or time zones. We can pray for the people in Haiti, Africa or a love one in another state and expect positive results. We can speak a word over someone’s life who is on the path to destruction and see that person’s life turn around. All that person may need is for someone to believe in them.

We must look beyond what we see in the natural and begin to focus on the heart and mind of the individual. No one wants to be a failure. Even though a person may be on the failure track, your positive words can have a powerful effect upon their lives. First of all ,we must know that God wants this person to succeed in life. His desire is to see all of His children live the abundant life that He promised in His word. Even though it is a promise, the outcome for this person must be spoken.

The word of God tells us that we can have what we say. Your words can turn a situation that is heading toward destruction into a positive outcome. Refrain from allowing anyone to speak negativity about anything into your life. When our outlook is positive then the words that we say will correspond with the thoughts that are in the mind.

The lives of so many individuals have been destroyed because someone did not know the power of the spoken word. Many individuals are behind prison walls because someone saw the negative instead of bringing forth the positive through the spoken word.

Who do you know that needs a positive word spoken over their lives? Is it your child, husband, wife, boss, friend, someone who mistreated you or just the community at large? Your words can and will make a difference. Never give up on a person. Refrain from allowing yourself to speak defeat and failure over anyone’s life. Your words have power. Use positive, life building and success developing words to describe every person you know and every situation you face. Life and death (success and failure) are in the power of your tongue. Be very careful what you speak out of your mouth.
