You Can Pray in Public Schools was written to expose and shed light on a well kept secret. Prayer has not been taken out of public schools! God has given us many ways to communicate with him. We are not limited by one method of praying. Did you know that God is a reader of the thoughts and intents of the heart? In other words, God is a mind reader. Now, if you can believe this, you are well on your way to believing that it is possible to communicate with God without even opening your mouth. Our problem of prayer in public schools is really not a problem at all. Satan has blinded many into believing that prayer cannot take place in public schools.
God wants believers to be empowered. We can be empowered by knowing the will of God. The will of God is found in the Word of God. No matter what the issue or the situation, God has already provided an answer for those who seek after him and by faith believe that God’s word is true. Public schools are a major battleground for the hearts and minds and souls of young people. Sometimes, the people of faith get sidetracked because of what is said via the media (television, radio, magazines and newspapers). Not only that, the greater deception happens when Satan’s lie is lifted up in the church as true. No matter whose mouth speaks a thing, the word of God states it this way: God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19).
As our culture continues to be diversified, there is a need to respect the religious and non-religious views of other people. Formal prayer, as we know it, has been to some degree removed from our public schools; however, I would have you know that the plan and purposes of God will not be hindered. In our public schools, there is a spiritual battle being waged.
In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Paul reminds us that: Though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought to make it obedient to Christ. We can pray in public schools. The Word of God is true.
For God has given to us a spirit of power, of love, and self-discipline. He did not give us a spirit of timidity (2 Timothy 1:7). This book was written to expose a great deception about praying in public schools. Not only can you pray in public schools, it is your God-given right to pray whenever and wherever you need to.
