“Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10 (Amplified Bible)
It is possible to live your entire life die and go to heaven and never really have a one on one relationship with God. There are millions of people who go to church week after week who can quote the Bible but still do not know their God.
Most of God’s children know about Him but they do not really know Him. Much time is spent approaching God the way the world approaches a situation. God is often approached with doubt, unbelief, anger and only when you need something from Him. He is often blamed when things go wrong or there is a crisis in your life. Unless you come to know who God really is you will never experience the victory and blessings that are rightfully yours because of who you are in Christ.
God is a Spirit. He is everywhere at the same time. He is all knowing and all powerful. Everything that exists on the earth was created by Him. Every idea, invention or creative work has its origin in God. The moment you said yes to Jesus, the Spirit of Christ, Who is God came to live in you. You now have God’s power and ability living in you. That power is there to allow you to live the abundant life promised by God. (John 10:10)
God is all powerful. He has chosen to place His power in bodies called the Body of Christ. Therefore, it takes a body to release His power out into the universe and cause the thing that God wants for you to become a reality. This is why prayer is so powerful and crucial to the overall success of God’s people. Unless the desires are spoken by a faith-filled believer with action following nothing will happen.
Perhaps an example that is happening right now in my life will give a clearer picture of how God works through His children. The goal of our ministry is to open several transitional houses before the end of this year. We agreed upon a number and spoke it out of our mouths in faith through prayer. We believed that we received and that the houses were already ours even though they were in the unseen realm. We continued to thank and praise God for what He had done for us. Several weeks after the prayer, I begin to get calls about houses. Individuals started calling to ask me to rent or purchase homes. God put me before people who had access to homes or could refer me to others. These are people I never called. The desire for the houses is now out in the universe and God has looked at our hearts and saw that there was no doubt, fear or unbelief. This week our first house will be confirmed and within a month that house will open. Did God do it for me? No, God did it through me. He made it all happen but, I had to take steps with the expectancy that the ministry would get the house. Faith without works is dead. I had to return calls. Go see the house. Write the proposal. Get the permission from the municipality. Do the advertisement. Most of all I had to know that God’s power, ability and might living in me would be sufficient to bring the desire to pass.
Your breakthrough is living in you. The thoughts that you think and the words that you speak coupled with great faith will open doors, move mountains, and tear down strongholds because the power of God is working through your thoughts, words and actions.
Stop struggling and get to know the God of your breakthrough. His desire is that you call upon Him expecting to get an answer. He is no respecter of persons. He is just waiting for you to get to know Him so that He can show Himself strong through your life. Hear Him saying to you this day, “Be still and know that I am God. Is there anything too hard for God.” If He is living in you everything that you need to bring forth the harvest that you desire is just waiting for you to take action.
