In the wake of the uprising in Ferguson, Lauryn Hill has dedicated a song to the people who continue to protest the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown.

Her song “Black Rage” is performed over the music of “The Sound of Music” classic “My Favorite Things.

An excerpt from the song includes “…Black rage is founded on blatant denial / Squeezed economics, subsistence survival / Deafening silence and social control / Black rage is founded on wounds in the soul.”
