Paul Muhammad, an organizer of a peace keeper group providing assistance to Ferguson protesters is asking all residents and protesters to clear the streets of Ferguson after dark Monday, Aug. 18. Similar calls have been made by Black Lawyers for Justice, the New Black Panther Party and numerous other groups.
Muhammad believes the aggressive tactics of law enforcement and outside agitators on Sunday night, and the presence of the Missouri National Guard is a recipe for disaster in Ferguson Monday night.
Muhammad and his group of peace keepers have spent much of the week assisting protesters, directing traffic and helping to ease tensions around the West Florissant and Canfield Drive protests. However, his group is now concerned for the welfare of the community with the addition of the National Guard to the scene.
The call is for restraint on the part of protesters angry over the killing of unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown. They are urging everyone to clear the streets after dark to avoid an ugly, violent, chaotic scene in Ferguson.Â
