Smashed window in the Delmar Loop

The University City Chamber of Commerce established a crowd-funding site for people wishing to donate to Delmar Loop businesses vandalized on the third night of ongoing protests of the not-guilty verdict in the Jason Stockley murder trial. To donate online, please go to https://universitycitychamber.com/store/delmar-loop-donations. Donations can also be made via a mail-in check, made out to the University City Chamber of Commerce, 7700 Olive Blvd., University City, Missouri 63130 and a note that it is for Delmar Loop businesses. Of course, as Mary Adams, executive director of the University City Chamber of Commerce, said, people can also “visit the Loop, patronize the shops and restaurants, view the art that now covers boarded up windows, and show your support by walking through their doors.”

The City of University City has answers for those wondering what they can do to help in the wake of significant damage.

“There are two easy ways to help U City businesses recover,” says The second way is to make a monetary donation to help affected businesses.”

has set up a donation portal on their website, where one hundred percent of the proceeds (less credit card processing fees) will go directly to the businesses needing to repair damages to their storefronts.

“The Delmar Loop is a treasured piece of the St. Louis landscape. If anyone is wondering how they can help, we invite them to shop and dine on one of the 10 Best Streets in America. We also welcome the financial generosity and assistance that will help our small business owners recover from the damages they sustained.” says Adams.

As of September 26, 2017 at 4:00 pm., a total of $2,625.00 has been raised. The Loop remains open for business and eager to assist shoppers.
