The senior thrower participated in the Jayhawk Relays in Lawrence, KS. last weekend and broke a school record in the process.
Johnson won the discus at Kansas with a throw of 154 feet 8 inches, which is a new school record. The old mark of 152-9 was set in 2007 by Rickael Roach, who won the Class 3 state title and set a new state-meet record with that throw.
Johnson won the Class 3 state championship in the discus last year with a throw of 142 feet. She signed with Tulsa University on a track and field scholarship.
