The senior standout led the Hawks to its first ever district championship in boys’ track and field.
At the Class 4, District 1 meet in Hillsboro, Martin won finished first in four events. He won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet 5 inches, the javelin with a throw of 172-1, the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.6 seconds and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 39.12.
As a junior, Martin won the Class 4 state championship in the javelin with a throw of 161-5. He also finished second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and second in the 110-meter meter high hurdles at the 2017 state meet.
