The senior standout won the championship at the Suburban North Conference meet last weekend at Sioux Passage Park.
Stewart covered the course in a winning time of 17 minutes .09 seconds. Stewart was a district and sectional champion last season en route to earning All-Stare honors as a junior. He finished 18th at the Class 4 state meet.
Stewart is also a standout in track and field. He finished fifth in the 3,200 and 7th in the 1,600-meter runs at the Class 4 state track championships last season. He was also an Amateur Athletic Union national champion during summer track.
