Watson scored 38 points in a 98-92 loss to W.E.B. DuBois (TN) at last weekend’s Rameybasketball Midwest Showdown Shootout at Webster Groves. He followed up with 34 points in the Warriors’ 64-52 victory over Francis Howell Central in the first round of the MICDS Holiday Tournament.
For the season, Watson is averaging 27 points a game, which is currently third in the St. Louis area. As a sophomore, Watson averaged 19 points a game in leading Whitfield to a fourth-place finish in the Class 3 state tournament. He has more than a dozen scholarship offers from Division I schools around the country.
