The native St. Louisan, who has played with the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns, has agreed to a buyout from the Suns and will join the L.A. Clippers, Beal’s agent Mark
Bartelstein told ESPN on Wednesday.
Beal, who is joined by only LeBron James of the L.A. Lakers with no-trade clauses in NBA
contracts, has agreed to a two-year, $11-million deal with a player option. He could become a free agent following the upcoming season.
Beal averaged 17.6 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 50.5% field-goal shooting and 40.7% 3-point shooting during his two seasons in Phoenix.
However, Beal played in just 106 out of a possible 164 games.
