The Boston Celtics are two games away from returning to the National Basketball Association Finals for the first time since 2022.
The host Celtics scored a resounding 126-110 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals at T.D. Gardens Arena. The Celtics have taken a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.
Guard Jaylen Brown had a magnificent performance for the Celtics as he scored a game-high 40 points. That tied a career high for Brown. St. Louisan Jayson Tatum and Derrick White added 23 points apiece. After a quiet first half in which he scored only four points, Tatum erupted for 19 points in the second half.
Forward Pascal Siakam scored 20 points to lead the Pacers. Of more concern to Indiana is the health of All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton, who left the game in the third quarter with an injury to his left hamstring.
The series resumes on Saturday night with Game 3 in Indianapolis at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ABC.
