St. Louisan Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics was selected to the All-NBA First Team for the fourth consecutive season.
It marks the fifth time that the former Chaminade College Prep All-American has been voted to the All-NBA First Team. Tatum becomes the first Celtics’ player to earn four consecutive First Team selections since Hall of Famer Larry Bird.
Tatum was a unanimous selection for the First Team by the 100 members of the voting panel. He was joined by NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City, Nikola Jokic of Denver, Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee and Donovan Mitchell of Cleveland.
In the regular season, Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists a game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 34 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line. He made a career-high 250 3-pointers during the season.
Tatum’s postseason came to an end when he suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks. In that game, Tatum had scored a season-high 42 points before the injury.
