Lauren White, SIU-Edwardsville – Women’s Track and Field

The senior standout from Edwardsville High was the champion in the heptathlon at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships last weekend in Cookeville, Tennessee. It marked the second consecutive year that she has won the event at the OVC championships.

White won the event with a total of 5,383 points, which set a new school record by 537 points. In the heptathlon, she led all athletes in the shot put, javelin, long jump and 200-meter dash. She also finished in eighth place in the open javelin competition.

White was also a standout on the Cougars’ basketball team during the winter. She averaged 13.7 points a game and led the 17-15 Cougars in scoring and assists.

Julian Harvey, SIU-Edwardsville – Men’s Track and Field

The senior standout from Edwardsville High enjoyed a big performance at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships last weekend in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Harvey won the triple jump with an effort of 50 feet 10 Âľ inches. He also won the 100-meter dash in a winning time of 10.6 seconds. He also anchored the Cougars’ 4×100-meter relay team to a fourth-best finish with a seasonal best time.

During his stellar career, Harvey is the school’s record holder in the long jump, triple jump and high jump in outdoor and indoor competition. In 2017, he was the OVC champion in the long jump and earned All-American status for his fifth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
