Jarrett Brooks
The former Parkway Central standout is one of the nation’s leaders in all-purpose yardage in the NCAA Division II ranks as a junior at Missouri Western University. Last week, Brooks caught six passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime to lead the Griffons past No. 5-rated Washburn 28-21. Brooks is a threat as a pass receiver, punt and kick return specialist. For the season, Brooks has 1,543 yards of all-purpose yardage and 10 touchdowns.
Laurence Maroney Heisman Trophy Watch
The former Normandy High standout rushed for 85 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown to help Minnesota past Indiana 42-21. Maroney moved into second place on the school’s all-time career rushing list with 3,814 yards. For the season, Maroney has rushed for 1,345 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is averaging 149 yards per game.
