Motor sport event rescheduled for Oct. 15

Black Sunday, the largest African American drag racing event in the country, fell victim to torrential rains on September 17, but the event has been rescheduled for Sunday October 15 at Gateway International Raceway (GIR) in Madison, Illinois.

The 15th promises to be an exciting event with the Quick 16 cars and motorcycles slated to return for their legendary shoot out and a full day of loads of fast cars and bikes tearing up the drag strip. Grudge racers who were on the original program will also be back to get their race on.

Racers interested in participating in the day’s event pay only $40 for a full day of testing and tuning. Spectator tickets purchased for the 17th date will be honored and tickets will be available for those who plan to attend on the 15th.

Other activities that will also be included in the October 15 program will be the United Black Drag Racers Association charitable contributions to Faith House, East St. Louis Community Camp, Old Community Baptist Church Youth Program and the Emma L. King Foundation and lots of food, fun and excitement for the entire family.
