It’s Christmas. The holiday season where all is supposed to be good with the world. Truces come into play at this time of the year as the warring factions put aside their differences just for a bit. If they could only extend it by a year which begets another year.

It’s that time for me to extend holiday wishes to those to whom I pay attention for one reason or another. Because it is the holiday season, it’s all good.

To the St. Louis Cardinals. More promotions like Mike Hall who now runs Cardinals Care. Hall is part of the future of this organization. Watch things go with him. Oh, by the way, a closer, a left-handed starter and a second baseman would be nice to.

The St. Louis Blues. A new health insurance plan. With the amount of injuries you have encountered, it won’t be long before someone will have to bail out your insurance company. The Blues try, but you need to get better n soon.

The St. Louis Rams. Simple. A clue. Billy Devaney is the key when it comes to hiring the next coach. Where would the Rams be if not for Bob Wallace, Rick Smith, Artis Twyman and Todd Hewitt? In worst shape, if you can imagine that.

Saint Louis University. More fans and a better schedule. Please, no more Yahoo states on the schedule. How about Mizzou as an opponent? Mizzou will have to cooperate as well. Rick Majerus has his hands full with so many freshmen. He can get it done sooner than you think if the kids listen. Shimmy Gray has brought respectability back to a women’s program that was borderline embarrassing a few years ago. That is no longer the case. More Theresa Lisch please. Athletic Director Chris May and his staff will not get outworked. Going to a Bills game can be fun. Put them on your schedule in 2009.

Mizzou. Disappointing season, football wise? Possibly. Wakeup call about what work needs to be put in to compete with the Big Boys in the Big 12? Oh yes. Will Gary Pinkel get there? Count on it. As for Mike Anderson, his program has turned the corner. Not from a win perspective, but from a talent level. Now play Saint Louis University and make Claibs happy!

Sports talk radio. Do we have enough stations now? I am all for employment and variety. Why should the same 12 callers who call every station in town be allowed to have such an impact on what I listen to?

Art Holiday, Cordell Whitlock, Vicki Newton, Bonita Cornute and Carol Daniel. Experience, talent, respect for your craft is what makes me feel good about where we are in St. Louis when I look outside of the sports world for information. Did I mention good looks? (You too, Cordell …)

Maurice Drummond. “The Mayor.” The future has arrived with him when it comes to sports. He is part of a great team on Fox 2 and now has a radio show on 590 the Fan. He is definitely worth my time whenever he is in action and he should be worth yours too.

Bernie Miklaus, Bob Ramsey, Brian Burwell, Frank Cusumano, Charlie Tuna, Martin Kilcoyne, Rene Knot, Steve Savard, Rich Gould, Earl Austin Jr. Maurice Scott and Jay Randolph Jr. People who have become my true friends in an industry that does not allow many. I appreciate you all for all the right reasons.

To John Hadley, Jim Huer, and John Maracek. My KTRS crew. Thank goodness for each other. It’s more than just fun.

Mike Shannon, John Rooney and Jim Jackson. No three people have more fun when they show up to work. They should have their picture next to the word “class.”

Demetrious Johnson. Life is always good for DJ when you can help someone. When you have my back, it’s one area that I no longer need to worry about. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Donald M. Suggs. A man with great vision on so many things I have come to appreciate and respect.

Alvin A. Reid. More good players for the Cardinals. Then what, Alvin? Kansas in the BCS championship Game? Stay on the Cardinal thing, man

To all of my readers who come up and say things about what is written, both good and bad. Thank you. If you thought enough to say it, that means as much as the message itself.
