President Donald Trump hosted college football champion Clemson for winning the College Football Playoff National Championship at a White House ceremony Monday evening. The visit included a meal spread of fast food.
Trump told The Associated Press that he paid for their meal because of the partial government shutdown.
“We went off and we ordered American fast food, paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza,” Trump told The Associated Press. “I think they’d like it better than anything we could give.”
The meal included burgers from Wendy’s and McDonald’s as well as pizza from Dominos.
