Central standout wide receiver Brandon Sheperd has given a verbal
commitment to attend Oklahoma State University

“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>The 6’2” 190-pound Sheperd is one of the top wide receivers in the state of Missouri. He chose the Cowboys over the University of Missouri.
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>As a senior, Sheperd had 47 receptions for 818 yards and 21 touchdowns. He scored 15 receiving touchdowns and added six more rushing touchdowns in leading the Colts to a 10-2 record and a berth in the Class 5 state quarterfinals.

attack. The Cowboys will play Standord in the Fiesta Bowl. Sheperd
was in attendance at Oklahoma State’s 44-10 victory over in-state
rival Oklahoma on the last day of the regular
season.

“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>The Missouri Tigers received a verbal commitment from O’Fallon High standout Ka’Ra Stewart. The 6’0” 190-pound Stewart was an excellent two-way performer for the Panthers, who won a share of the Southwestern Conference title and advanced to the quarterfinals of the IHSA Class 7A state playoffs. On defense, Stewart had 34 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions from his linebacker position. He also scored five touchdowns on offense as a running back.
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>Another metro-standout headed to the collegiate level is Collinsville High quarterback J’Vaughn Williams, who gave a commitment to Western Illinois University. The 6’5” 205-pound Williams passed for 1,386 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior season with the Kahoks.

“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>The postseason honors continue to roll in for former Wentzville Timberland star Montee Ball, who was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Ball finished fourth in the final voting after a spectacular junior season. He was voted the Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Year after scoring a conference record 38 touchdowns. Ball was also selected as the winner of inaugural Ameche-Payne Running Back of the Year Award, which is given to the best back in the Big Ten.
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>Former Hazelwood Central standout Marvin McNutt was selected as the Big Ten Conference Wide Receiver of the Year. McNutt had 53 receptions for 856 yards and eight touchdowns. He led the conference in receiving yards, yards per game and receiving touchdowns.
