KMOV-TV Channel 4 has named Maurice Drummond as its new Sports Director. Drummond has spent 25 years covering sports, and brings more than 15 years of experience in the St. Louis market to KMOV.

In his quarter century of work, he has been based in cities from Washington D.C. to New York, and worked with stations like ESPN and The Golf Channel.

“I want to bring the locker room home to the fans,” Drummond told KMOV.com. “I want them to feel like they have an all-access pass. We’re going to provide that every day. We’ll take them on the road; we’ll give them in-depth interviews. We are going to give people what they can’t get on ESPN.”

Drummond said his goal is to keep fans connected to their teams no matter how far they are from home.

“We’ll be there, and we’ll take you there,” he said. “We’ll bring the teams into your home and into your phone.”

Drummond replaces Steve Savard – who now serves as evening anchor alongside Sharon Reed.
