Mizzou basketball coach Frank Haith has confirmed former Oregon five-star recruit (Rivals.com) Jabari Brown has transferred to the Tigers. Per NCAA rules, he must sit out one year and will be eligible to play next December.
Brown, a 6’5″ shooting guard from California, was rated a top-20 player in his class by several publications. The versatile, high-flying freshman guard started two games this season for the Oregon Ducks before deciding to transfer.
While he only averaged 6 points and 2 rebounds in those two games, Brown excelled for the Ducks during a summer exhibition tour in Italy, averaging more than 15 points and 5 rebounds against Italian professional teams.
Brown will be the third Tiger guard to arrive via transfer for next season, joining Keion Bell, who averaged 16ppg at Pepperdine, and Earnest Ross, who averaged 13 ppg at Auburn.
The talented trio should help ease the transition to life after Marcus Denmon, the Tigers’ star shooting guard who has helped lead Mizzou to an 11-0 start and a Top Ten national ranking.
