Anthony Davis

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade superstar forward Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers

ESPN first reported the details of the trade Saturday.

According to the Shreveport Times, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Saturday. The person was not authorized to publicly comment on the deal will not be official until after June 30.

In exchange, the Lakers are sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks — including the No. 4 selection in next week’s draft — to the Pelicans.

The deal will send Davis to Los Angeles to play alongside LeBron James.

Davis was the top overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He has one year remaining on his current contract.
