According to the Sports Network, The St. Louis Rams are hopeful RB Steven Jackson can play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday despite having to sit out against the New York Giants.

Jackson was ruled out of Monday night’s game after testing the quadriceps injury during a pre-game warmup. Jackson did not practice all last week.

Jackson suffered the injury while breaking for 47-yard touchdown run against the Philadelphia Eagles in the home opener. He returned for one more play, but did not return following that.

In Jackson’s absence, the Rams rushed for only 59 yards on 19 carries against the Giants.

The Rams will monitor Jackson’s progress throughout this week’s practices.
