Former St. Louis Rams great Marshall Faulk was selected for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame during Super Bowl weekend.

Faulk, who played for the Rams between 1999 and 2006, was the second member of the St. Louis Rams to be inducted. Former Rams offensive lineman Jackie Slater went into the Hall of Fame in 2001. Faulk was the first player from the Rams’ “Greatest Show on Turf” era to be inducted.

During his stellar 13-year career with the Rams and Indianapolis Colts, Faulk was one of the most versatile running backs in the history of the National Football League. He was the only player in NFL history to compile at least 12,000 yards rushing and 6,000 yards receiving during his career. Faulk was also the only player in NFL history to have at least 70 rushing touchdowns and 30 receiving touchdowns during his career.

Faulk was the Rams’ top weapon during the 1999 season in which they won the only Super Bowl championship in the history of the franchise. Faulk amassed a then-NFL record of 2,249 yards from scrimmage. He rushed for 1,381 yards and added 1,084 yards receiving in the Rams’ historic offensive machine.

For his career, Faulk rushed for 12,279 yards and 70 touchdowns. He also had 767 receptions for 6,875 yards and 36 touchdowns. He is the league’s all-time leader in receptions for running backs.

Faulk was the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1994 with the Colts. He was the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2000 and three-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year from 1999-2001.

Faulk will be officially enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 6 in Canton, Ohio.
