Saint Louis University freshman basketball standout Dwayne Evans was selected to the All Atlantic 10 Conference All Rookie Team on Monday.
The 6’5″ freshman from Bolingbrook, Ill. averaged 8.4 points and a
team-high 6.5 rebounds for the Billikens, who open play in the A-10
Tournament at Rhode Island on Tuesday night. In conference games, Evans averaged 9.5 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. Evans led all A-10 freshmen in rebounding this season. He also earned two A-10 Rookie of the Week awards in consecutive weeks in February.
Evans becomes the third SLU player to make the A-10 All Rookie team three consecutive years. Forward Cody Ellis was selected to the All Rookie Team
in 2010 while guard Kwamain Mitchell earned similar honors after the 2009
season.
