The talented junior running back is a major reason why the Cadets have opened the season with a surprising 3-1 record. CBC is now in sole possession of first place in the Metro Catholic Conference.
The 5’10” 185-pound Simmons rushed for 152 yarsd on 20 carries and scored four touchdowns in the Cadets’ 42-24 victory over Chaminade last Friday night. Simmons scored on runs of 41, 3, 8 and 32 yards.
Simmons rushed for 203 yards on 19 carries to lead the Cadets past DeSmet 22-19 on Sept. 15. With CBC trailing 19-0, Simmons started a dramatic Cadet rally with an electrifying 88-yard touchdown run.
Through four games, Simmons has rushed for 659 yards and scored three touchdowns. He is averaging 7.6 yards per carry.
CBC will visit Vianney on Friday night in a MCC action.

Softball
This dynamic duo of athletes have been the offensive stars for the Bulldogs this season. Nunley, a senior, entered the week with a .462 batting average with two home runs and 13 runs batted in. She also has 27 stolen bases and seven extra base hits.
Dunbar has been just as impressive as a sophomore with a team-leading batting average of .472. She has one home run with 13 RBIs to tie Nunley for the team lead. Dunbar also has 11 stolen bases.
