Kianna Ruff
McCluer South-Berkeley
Track and Field
One of the top track and field athletes in the Midwest region, Ruff led the Bulldogs to their fourth consecutive Class 3 state title. After the graduation of superstar Alishea Usery in 2008, Ruff took over the mantle as Berkeley’s leader and prime-time performer.
At the recent Class 3 state-championships in Jefferson City, Ruff won two individual state championships in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run. She also anchored the 4×400-meter relay to a state title in the race which decided the team championship for the Bulldogs.
Ruff finished her career with three individual state championships and five more state titles in the relays. She was a member of Berkeley’s four-time 4×400-meter relay team, including the state-record team of 2007, which turned in an incredible time of 3 minutes 45.78 seconds. As a freshman, Ruff anchored the Bulldogs 4×800-meter relay to a championship and a state record. She has also won multiple national champinships in summer track as a member of the Blues Track Club.
Ruff will continue her track and field career at the University of Tennessee.
