The talented sophomore guard led the Blue Devils to the championship of the Valley Park Tournament last week.

Allen averaged 28 points to lead Maplewood to victories over St. John, Kennedy and Trinity. In the first round against St. John, Allen had 30 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists in a 94-24 victory. Allen accomplished all of that in just one half of play.

In the semifinals against JFK, he had 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six steals. He followed that up 21 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five steals in Maplewood’s 62-59 victory over Trinity in the championship game.

As a freshman, Allen broke on to the scene in a big way, averaging nearly 20 points a game in helping the Blue Devils to a 20-victory season and a berth in the Class 3 district championship game. He is considered one of the top underclassmen in the state of Missouri.
