The 5’6” senior guard finished her stellar four-year career in grand style by leading the Panthers to their second consecutive state championship.

In the Panthers 63-40 victory over Springfield Catholic in the state finals, Dodson turned in one of the best performances with 17 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

Dodson’s 3-pointer just before the buzzer at the end of the first half gave the Panthers a 29-21 lead and turned the momentum back in Metro’s favor after Springfield Catholic made a big rally.

Dodson also had 15 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in the Panthers’ 60-40 victory over Jefferson City Blair Oaks in the semifinals.

A four-year varsity member for the Panthers, Dodson went from a key reserve as a freshman and sophomore to a leader in her final two years on two state championship teams.

As a senior, Dodson averaged a team-high 13 points and five rebounds a game while shooting 72 percent from the free throw line. She also averaged nearly three steals a game.

A top student in the classroom, Dodson is looking at several schools, including Morgan State, Kansas State and Vanderbilt.
