The 5’11” 190-pound senior two-way standout helped lead the Spartans to the Missouri Class 6 state semifinals for the first time in the school’s history.

Prince rushed for 90 yards, had two touchdown receptions on offense and recorded seven tackles and recovered one fumble on defense in the Spartans’ 35-14 victory over Columbia Rock Bridge in the state quarterfinals.

For the season, Prince has rushed for 1,113 yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging more than eight yards per carry. With Prince leading the way, the Spartans have compiled a 19-3 record in the past two years, including one Metro Catholic Conference title, two district titles and the school’s first semifinals berth. Prince was the MCC Co-Player of the Year as a junior last season.

A three-year starter for DeSmet, Prince gave a verbal commitment to Notre Dame earlier this year. He will be joined at Notre Dame by current teammate Paddy Mullen, a talented defensive end.

DeSmet will host Kansas City Rockhurst, the No. 1 team in the state, in the semifinals on Friday night at 7 p.m.
