Coach Lawndale
Lawndale Thomas has been hired as the new head boys basketball coach at Normandy High. Thomas was promoted to the top spot after being the Vikings’ assistant coach under former coach Malcolm Hill, who was recently hired as the school’s Athletic Director. The promotion of Thomas should make for a smooth transition for a Normandy program that has been a solid winner in recent years.
Wren leads Hawks
Hazelwood Central junior soccer standout Lisa Wren completed an excellent season in which she led the Hawks to a fourth-place finish in the Class 4 state tournament. A high-scoring forward, Wren led the Hawks in scoring with 18 goals and 12 assists in leading the surprising Hawks to a series of upsets and a berth in the Final Four of the state tournament.

As a senior, Lewis averaged 18.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.5 assists a game in leading the Bulldogs to a 27-4 record and a third-place finish in the Class 4 state tournament.
