To say that Tim Tebow has a flair for a dramatic is like saying Lebron James’ fourth-quarter play in last year’s Finals was mildy underwhelming – in other words a gross understatement.
After upsetting the favored Steelers by way of an 80-yard TD pass on the first play of overtime, Tebow cemented his status as the most talked about player in the league. As a matter of fact, Twitter announced that Tebow and his game-winning TD set an all-time record for most tweets per second regarding sports (9420) and second on the all-time list regardless of category.
Though the social networking site didn’t give a detailed breakdown of the tweets, you can be assured that half of them were critical of the Broncos QB. Â Critics call Tebow ‘lucky.’ Â They count every win as a fluke. Â They say he’ll get crushed in the next game. Â But Tebow keeps chugging along, keeps making improbably plays in critical situations and most importantly keeps winning.
It’s also funny that so many minorites who have often criticized the league for not giving mobile QBs a chance are so dead set against the guy who (along with Michael Vick and Cam Newton) may help open the floodgates for them.
Regardless of the quirky throwing motion, the inconsistent accuracy or the famed prayer celebration, Tebow is must-see TV and the talk of the town.
